Autumnsongs Records are proud to present a five-song collection of covers by Rhys Marsh, entitled 'Suspended In A Weightless Wind'.
This is Marsh's first solo release, which quickly follows last autumn's 'The Blue Hour' & spring's double live album, 'Trio', which were both recorded & released with his 'multi-national orchestra', The Autumn Ghost.
The E.P. is the first in a series, which has actually been planned for several years. “I started recording some of these songs a few years ago,” says Marsh, “but due to commitments with The Autumn Ghost & my production work, I wasn't able to get any further until this summer, when I was finally able to lock myself away & become deeply immersed in the songs.”

'Suspended In A Weightless Wind' features songs originally recorded by Nick Drake, King Crimson, Scott Walker, Family & Crosby, Stills & Nash.
“It was a difficult choice, deciding which songs to pick. My plan with this series of releases is to record songs that are among my favourites of all time, but which also allow me the space & opportunity to give them a twist, so I can add my own flavour & put my stamp on them.”
The E.P. is Marsh's first release on which he plays all of the instruments.
“I was very careful in my choices of instruments to use & how to augment the arrangements. I wanted to make it authentic & consistent, so I limited myself to sixteen tracks of audio & as little editing as possible. I also used microphones & recording techniques from the early seventies, a minimal amount of EQ & compression, along with a healthy dose of tape delay.
This E.P. is pretty much just me playing everything live in my studio. It was a very fun challenge!”
On top of that, there will only be 100 CDs printed, all hand-numbered & signed by Marsh. The gatefold artwork will feature some of his photography, which will be exclusive to the CD release.
The E.P. will also be available on all digital & streaming services, the first time that Autumnsongs Records decides to stream an entire release, but it's quite likely that the physical CD will become a collector's item.
The limited-edition CD will be available from Burning Shed & the download / stream from iTunes, Wimp, Spotify & all other digital services.

As with previous releases this is a solid album from start to finish which continues the storyline, themes and signatures perfectly.
'Enigma' and 'Another Same' are on par with or superior to many commercial offerings by established prog artists.
The Waters, Wilson and Hayward influences shine through once more but I also hear song writing very much in the style of Difford and Tilbrook, 'Trough of War' & 'Another Same' probably being the best examples.
These chaps are the real deal!

When you like your prog to be more beautiful and/or accessible than prog-proggy, than this is for you! Melodic as hell and yes, Peter Falconer is quite a singer! That wouldn't go half the way without the solid songs of Pat Sanders. A great combination of skills ;-) Carsten Pieper
